Here at HONOR, we have been active in goldens since the early 1960’s. Our first Champion from those years still appears in our current genetics, almost 10 generations back! Countless hours of work in research and genetic studies, along with caring and prayer have gone into each and every puppy born here. We want you, our family pet and therapy placements, to have goldens that live to 15, 16 and even 18 years of age.
We found over the years that preserving the wonderful and unique heritage of HONOR GOLDENS became more difficult since we were limited on long lived, temperament appropriate American goldens to breed to: cancer can have a genetic link! After much research and the support of knowledgeable breeders in Europe, we imported our first cream colored golden from Sweden in 2004, followed by dogs from the Netherlands. Blending these English cream colored goldens (sometimes incorrectly called white goldens) with our long lived American genes have produced what we feel are some of the most beautiful, intelligent and long-lived goldens to ever grace the breed.
We are members of GRCA and follow the Code of Ethics and also adhere to the AKC and FCI (European) Golden Retriever standards for the breed. We are proud producers of SEVERAL HUNDRED OBEDIENCE AND FIELD TITLED AKC goldens. In addition, we have produced more than 200 AKC CONFORMATION SHOW CHAMPIONS OF RECORD, plus dozens of GRCA OUTSTANDING SIRES AND DAMS. One of the first and most famous “dual” Champions (show and field) was Honor bred Ch. AFC Honor’s Darado of Spindrift, O.D. (1971) amateur trained entirely by his owner.
Many HONOR GOLDENS become certified for therapy, hearing, and special needs work throughout the US and Charlotte, NC. HONOR GOLDENS have worked and currently work as:

Despite these accolades, it would mean nothing if each dog was not everything a pet home desires and deserves. A golden by nature should be a loving and calm house pet devoted to children and tolerant of all sorts of things. Producing this wonderful breed is a challenge we take very seriously. Being in constant contact with our puppy owners, we have extensive family photos and videos and offer 24/7 consultation, nutrition guidance, training and boarding as long term friends with our families.
2 Corinthians 5:20 –
“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ.”
